As a broadcast producer, my role is to oversee the show’s timing, orchestrate the order and transitions of video packages, stay in constant communication with my team (tech, anchors, reporters, assistant producer), plan and execute live production, and lead the post-show critique.

Producer specific tasks:

• Writing scripts for anchors (VOs, intros, teases)

• Researching stories and fact-checking

• Cutting video clips and pairing them with scripts

• Building rundowns (the order of the show)

• Coordinating with reporters, editors, and control room staff

• Monitoring breaking news and updating stories in real time
